My Dear friends,
Prayer is a mystery; our understanding is constantly challenged with new insights and our comprehension will never penetrate all the mystery in this life. Prayer is not a library science, in spite of hundreds of books on the subject, but a “lab” science, learned in the laboratory of the secret place. It yields its secrets, not to the scientific investigation of the intellectual but to the childlike in faith. A prayer cannot learn or teach through a books, but an effective prayer must be learned through a do it yourself.
Teaching about prayer flows from Genesis to Revelation. No matter how often we dip our pail of faith into the stream to draw from its life-giving waters, there will always is an abundance of truth yet available.
“The disciples of Jesus asked to be taught to pray …….. There is no way to learn but by praying. No reasoning philosophy of prayer ever taught a soul to pray …….. Though a man should have all knowledge about prayer, and though he understand all mysteries about prayer, unless he pray he will never learn to pray. Those who became mighty in prayer. Learned to pray.”
1st Timothy 2:1 tell us about prayer in four words – supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, we can sees in these terms the suggestion “that prayer may advance from a lesser to a greater intensity and power”.
I think that prayer as fellowship with God – a way of life. Not asking! because Jesus recommended it so highly and his statements were pointed and clear.
“Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.” (Matt. 7:7). “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer”. (Matt. 21:22).
Asking God for blessings for ourselves is called PETITION. it indicates that “Supplications” might also be rendered “petition”. petition in the Bible sense, he declares. Signifies the earnest presentation before God in Jesus name of specific heart-felt needs. This is real prayer.
Practical praying for “our daily bread” is not unspiritual; it honors God for us to ask Him for whatever we need. It demonstrates our faith that He and He alone can provide for that need. Jesus taught that asking in His name is to His Father’s glory. “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (John14:13-14).
If asking bring glory to our Heavenly Father, then asking often and asking largely brings much glory to His name.
I was born and brought up in a Non Believers family. I learnt all the customs and was doing ritual things, but when I became 18 yrs old I met a person who told me about Jesus, that moment I denied to believe in Jesus, because of family taught me if anyone have money and men’s power, he is the God. but on 18th January 1992 I met one more person who share the word of God to me, again I denied to follow Jesus, but that fellow ask me to attend a prayer meeting at least once a time, next day was the Sunday and he took promise from me to attend Sunday service, I made a promise to him.
On that Sunday almost 50 youth were setting over there. everybody were singing and clapping, when preacher started to preach, everything was going up on my head and was not able to understand anything, after all this preacher gave alter call, if anyone want forgiveness from their sin, raise your hand and I will pray for them, that moment I was speaking in my mind, all these people are sinners because they raised their hands but I am not a sinner, so I kept my hand down, suddenly something happened to me, while he was praying every person were closed their eyes and I saw the white shining light it comes and rest on me, my hands raised up, my tears was running, and from my mouth I was speaking Lord I am sinner and forgive me.
Only two lines I was speaking but nothing able to understand what is going on and also my body becomes wet like someone took bath. that time I didn’t tell anyone, but after one week my life was changed, after this incident my village people and family members were talking about me that I was changed and they want to know how did it’s happened, after a month they were able to find the truth that I was attending the prayer meetings, when they heard about this, they were became very angry on me, they beaten and torture me when I denied to listen them, my father want to shoot me almost two hundred people were present there. When my father brings a revolver in his hand to shoot me, I was praying Lord you can save my life, suddenly one fellow catch my hand and said run away from here, four years I was roaming here and there.
9th April 1993 I took Baptism in a Gangage river and in August 1993 I joined the Bible training which was running through my church. It was very difficult time for me because those days I didn’t have proper cloths and other daily needs, but I was very happy because of my Lord who died for me and changed my life, gave me right direction in my life. From then and there on wards till today my Lord is my shepherd and provider, and I am serving Him among the gentiles and Christians with my family. God gave me a wonder full wife and two daughters. I believe that “it is better to trust in the Lord then put confidence in the man’’ (ps. 118:8).
God called me for the full time ministry in the year of 2003. I started ministry in the village called Ponda (Prem Nagar -Dehradun). God did wonder full things there and was able to start a small house fellowship. In the year of 2004 God gave me specific burden for the lost of Jollygrant area and surrounding villages. Here also God bless me to start a small fellowship. About 30-35 people are gathering in every Sunday.
Now we are preaching and sharing the gospel to the Nominal Christians and Gentiles of Dehradun city and rural areas. Equipping God’s people in our belonging church. (Dehradun, Ambala, Kaithal, Rampura phool, Bhatinda, Hapur & Meerut and other part of India) We are evangelizing with the fire and equipping God’s people with word of wisdom under the guidance of Holy Spirit. So please pray for me and my family to continue blesses the Lord and brings more people in His kingdom through our life.
